Rochester-Greece: October 3, 2017 at age 83, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Predeceased by her grandparents, George (Berdean) Ramsey; parents, Sandford Thomas and Ida English; and an aunt, Doris Frost.
Survived by her children, Blair (Frances) Ensinger, Lori Selenchik (Chip Dylewski), Julie (Clayton) Young and Elaine (Jim) Lemieux; and also her brother, Jack Thomas; and sister, Sandy Smith. Joyce will also be remembered by her great source of joy, her grandchildren, Jasmin (Steve) Efing, Elizabeth (Tom) Lewin, Allyson Ensinger, William Bower, Andrew (Nicole) Ensinger, Christina Selenchik, CJ Young, Tyler and Abby Lemieux; and her great-grandchildren, Taylor Legler, Zachary and Bradley Efing, Delilah and Max Lewin.
Joyce was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Massena, NY as well as the Parma Greece United Church of Christ in Hilton, NY. She was a Girl Scout leader, owned a tax preparation business for many years, and was an avid photographer. Joyce also enjoyed golf, hiking, gardening and playing the piano.
Family and friends are invited to call 4-7PM Monday, October 9th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, October 10th at the Parma Greece United Church of Christ, 1211 Manitou Rd. Hilton, NY. Interment will be at a later date at Black Creek Cemetery, Cuba, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people consider donations to the Alzheimers Association, Autism Speaks, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
