Passed in the care of his loving wife of 66 years on December 13, 2017 at 97 years old.
Predeceased by siblings, Mary (Jack) Kelly, Walt Mance, & Dorothy (Joe) Evanietz.
Survived by his wife Jane R. Mance; children, Bro. Mark Mance, OFM Cap, Anne (Rick Price) Mance, & Mary (Tobin) Hart; granddaughters, Haley & Maia Hart; brother, Bill Mance; many nieces and nephews; & friend Amy.
Calling will be held Sunday Dec. 17, 2:30-5:30pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Services held the following day, 9:30am at St Margaret Mary's Church, with graveside service to follow at St Bridget's cemetery.

Art graduated from Aquinas High School in 1939 and remained an active alumnus; he graduated from Canton ATC in 1941 with an Associate Degree in Agriculture. Art then enlisted in the army during WWII and was stationed in London and Paris. After the war, Art worked at a seed farm for three years and then with his partner, Eric Tarp, started a landscaping business. When Eric moved to California, his youngest brother, Bill, joined him until Bill entered the Army. Art then entered into a real estate business.
Art and Jane married in October 1951, and they lived with Jane's mother until 1957, when they bought a house in Irondequoit. They were loyal parishioners at St. Margaret Mary Parish for nearly 60 years. Art served as an usher, reader and communion minister and was active in the men's club. He was also a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society.
Art's primary avocation was gardening and always had a very large vegetable garden as well as beds of flowers. For the critters who entered his gardens- woodchucks and squirrels - he was a master slayer. In later years he volunteered at the Cornell Extension as a Master Gardener.
Art was a gentle soul and generous of heart. He opened his home to family friends and foster children. In later years he suffered from deafness and was blind in one eye. Ultimately a series of strokes brought his suffering to an end, but we know he is with the Lord in peace.
