Joseph J. Germuga Jr.

Brighton: Devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Passed away on Sunday, March 1st, 2015 at age 82. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Justine (Vosburgh) Germuga; son, Joseph III; cousin, Joan Zornow May. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol (Vick) Germuga; son, Francis (Cynthia); daughter-in-law, Jane Henning (Vince Hegarty); grandchildren, Matthew Henning (Rebecca Carter), Jennifer May, Norah Hegarty, and Claudia Germuga; great grandson, Kirk Henning; sister, Joyce Sirianno; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends from the Rochester Public Market.

Joe was a graduate of Edison Tech High School and Alfred State College. He worked for the Brighton Highway Department and he was a retiree from the Brighton Fire Department after 35+ years of dedicated service. Joe was an avid reader, Civil War history buff, camper, fisherman, family man but most of all he was proud to be a good friend.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, March 5th from 4-8 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, March 6th at the Peace of Christ Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church, 553 Humboldt Street. Private Interment.
