Greece: Died on April 19, 2015 at 92 years old. Predeceased by her father and mother Herbert Nile Eddy and Irene Maher Eddy. Survived by her husband of 68 years William L Tomkiewicz, son William L Tomkiewicz Jr (Karen), daughter Kathleen Cooper (David).

Also survived by her sister Mariel Lyon, brother Herbert Nile Eddy Jr, grandchildren Lisa Goodlein, Lauren Tomkiewicz, and Abby Tomkiewicz. Special friends were Eleanor Betlem and Muriel Gumms. A special thank you to the caring staff at the Edna Tina Wilson Living Center.

Virginia was the first Town of Greece Historian officially starting in 1969 and serving for 26 years. During that time she founded the Town of Greece Historical Society. She co-authored an award winning pictorial history of Greece titled Eight Miles Along The Shore with the Monroe county historian Shirley Cox Husted. She also received a commendation for the Historical Society work on the Bi-Centennial celebration. She loved anything historical and painstakingly put together the family genealogy long before computers simplified the process. She was a night owl and would read old English mysteries into the early morning hours.

All are invited to a celebration of her life.

It will be held on May 23 from 1-4 PM at the Village at Unity located at 1471 Long Pond Road. Access and parking thru the Village square in rooms A and B. Once on the grounds follow the event signs.
