ROCHESTER - Passed away peacefully in her sleep, on December 6, 2018 at age 79 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, after a long battle with cancer. Carole was born on April 14, 1939 in Rochester, NY to Fred and Leona Schmid. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles J. Skolny, their son, Chad J. Skolny (Lori) and granddaughters, Aubrey and Ava. Carole is also survived by her sister Merle (Peter) VanVoorst, sister-in-law Mary Ann (Vincent) Otte and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents Fred and Leona, brother Gary Schmid and sister Delores (Clarence) Dreesen. Carole worked as a math teacher for 25 years in the Greece Central School District. She enjoyed gardening, painting and spending time with her granddaughters.
