1929 - 2019
Dale served in the Unites States Army from December 1950 to September 1952. He was a member of the 24th and 25th Infantry Divisions that served in battle during the Korean War. He received the Combat Infantry Badge and two Purple Hearts for his service. He completed his service as a drill instructor at Indian Town Gap and was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army with the rank of Corporal. Dale was employed by Eastman Kodak for 37 years, Building 30 Kodak Park. Post retirement he worked for Brockport School District as a bus driver and monitor assistant on the special needs bus. Dale served 23 years in public service to the residents of Hamlin, three years as building inspector, four years as assessor, and sixteen years as a four term town councilman. He was a lifetime member of the Hamlin Fire Department, a member of VFW Post 6703 in Hamlin and was a past commander of the post from 1985 to 1987. Dale became a self taught guitar player in his sixties. He enjoyed playing at Hamlin's United Methodist Church and Hilton East assisted living center.
