Jim was born Clearfield, PA, on February 4, 1926 to the late James and Viola Bumbarger. Jim served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII. After the war on May 31, 1947 Jim married the love of his life, Muriel. They were married for 72 years. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Co, with over 35 years of service.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Eleanor, Fred, Dolly, Peggy, and Mary.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Muriel, his children, James M. (Edith) Bumbarger, Evelyn M. (King) Houston, Tim R. (Susan) Bumbarger, Mary Ann (Jody) Hoyt, and Amy I. (Doug) Tundo, his grandchildren, Julie, James, Jason, Alanna, Laurel, Josh, Miana, Rachael, Alta, Jon, Jillian, Jesse, and Carlee, his siblings, Thelma Chapman, and Joyce Bumbarger, and 27 great-grandchildren(soon to be 29!).
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609, on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a service to immediately follow.
Donations may be made in Jim's name to Ely-fagan Post 1151 of The American Legion, 260 Middle Rd, Henrietta, NY 14467
