ROCHESTER- Joan M. Boyd “Joanie” entered into eternal rest at the age of 86 on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.

Joan was born in Williamsport, PA on July 13, 1933. She was a loyal employee of Harris RF Communications for over 35 years. In her retirement, she volunteered at St. Johns Home. She will be remembered for her love of playing cards with her friends. She also loved her collection of Boyds Bears, birds, and lighthouses.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Vivian (Zen) Grochocki, Vernon (Gertrude) Foley.

She is survived by her son, Harry (Brenda) Boyd, her grandchildren, Greg Boyd (Shannon) and Aimee (Heath) Smith, her great-grandchildren, Austin, Heath Jr., and Bailee, her dear friend, Sue Maslyn, her twin sister, Joanne Howe, a niece, Jean Owens, her grand-dog, Rosco, and many friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609, on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10:00am-12:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Irondequoit Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Joan’s name.
