1989 - 2019

Andres “Dre” Rivera, at the young age of 29, passed away to be with the Lord suddenly on Saturday, September 7, 2019 due to complications of Leukemia and subsequent treatment. Andres was born in Rochester, NY, He was the son of Maria Rivera and Thomas Stewart. He graduated in 2007 from School of the Arts in Rochester, NY and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Audio Engineering from Finger Lakes Community College.

Dre was a renowned musician in the Rochester area. He was well-known for playing bass for several bands including The English Project and Danielle Ponder & the Tomorrow People. Dre will be missed but not forgotten in this city. He and his wife ministered in music and worship in their church Grace Road Church and Light of the World Assembly of God Church, and that is how their love story began.

Andres is survived by his wife, Carla I. Rivera, 2 daughters, Mariana I. Rivera (age 4),
Aria E. Rivera (age 1), and father Thomas Stewart. He will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

We will host a Memorial Service to celebrate his life on Saturday at Light of the World Assembly of God Church located at 200 Child Street, Rochester New York 14611. The service will begin at 6:00 PM. Calling hours on Sunday, September 15, 2019 will be at New Comer Cremations and Funeral Home, located at 6 Empire Boulevard, Rochester, NY 14609 from 2 to 5 PM.
