Edith was born in Sylvania, GA, to the late David and Agnes Harris, on August 31, 1921.
Edith was born to Agnes and David Harris. She was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and David Harris and her husband James I. Ponder Sr., and her youngest son, David Harold Ponder.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Smalls of Savannah Georgia: her devoted children; James (Mary) Ponder Jr., John (Ruby) Ponder, Ernestine(Julian) Young, Elijah(Loretta) Ponder, Drucilla (William) Nichols, Barbara Ponder, Zenus(Bessie) Ponder, Louis(Aletha) Ponder, and Felecia Ponder. Other family members of mention (Dorothy, Patircia, Carolyn) Ponder and Brenda Alston. She has a host of grandchildren including great-grands, nieces, and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Full Gospel Tabernacle located at 614 Clifford Ave, Rochester NY. Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 10:00am -11:00am, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 2650 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY.
