Passed November 18, 2019 at the age of 85.

Predeceased by his parents, Phyllis & Kenneth;

Survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary Jane; children, Vicki Bower, Kelly Van Gelder, & Jim Van Gelder, Chris (Sandy) Turner; grandchildren, Heather (John) Oliveri, Doug(Sam) Mauro, Andrea (Mike) Arena, & Frank Arena; great grandchildren, Jordan, Garrett, Gianluca, Viviana, Luke, Gabriella, Skye, & Walker sisters, Gayle Marshall & Deborah Mizma; nieces & nephew Jay, Kimberlie, & Tara; & other family, & many friends.

James better known as Jim "The Tank" Van Gelder had a great love of playing drums, playing them in many parades. He was a member of the American Legion post 468 as well as the president of the Lion's club & the Veterans of Foreign war. He was also a member of the 40/8 & The Elks Lodge. He was known for having a good time at Barnard Exempt.

Jim served in the Korean War with the US Air Force.

Services will be August 1, 10am at Riverside Cemetery with inurnment following at 11am
