Brigitte (Kurz) Skwirba
Rochester, NY
May 27, 1935 – April 2, 2020 at the age of 84.

Predeceased by her loving husband Eric.
Survived by children Monika (Steve) Maira and Earl E. Skwirba. grandchildren; Frank S. Maira, Philip E. Maira, Joseph A. Maira, Michael V. Maira, Isabella R. Maira, Nika M. Skwirba and Dylan E. Skwirba. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews both here in the United States and in Germany.

Brigitte immigrated from Germany to Kitchener, Ontario where she met, fell in love and married Eric in Canada. Shortly after they moved to Rochester, N.Y. where they started their family and auto repair shop in Greece. Nearly everyone who interacted with Brigitte at Eric’s Garage knew she was the backbone of the establishment within her secretarial duties. Patrons were ALWAYS greeted with a warm smile and in her free time she was very well known for her love of baking, cooking, sewing and knitting. She adored each of her grandchildren, always making whatever was going on in their “worlds” a priority while sharing lasting memories and inside jokes.

Brigitte was a member of the Rochester Schwaben Verein and passed along her affection for her German heritage to both her children and grandchildren.

Private interment. Memorial service will be held in the near future to celebrate her life.
