Brian Edward Vance

February 6th, 1968 - October 13, 2020

Brian is predeceased by his mother, Cheryl Dioguardi and his dog, Beanie. Brian is survived by his father, Andy Dioguardi, and his Gates-Greece Townline Road and Nine Mile Point Day Habilitation families.

There is a word we do not use often- gusto, but it is a word that aptly describes Brian Vance. He was a man who lived his life with gusto. Whether it was his love for his family, his joy at being outside, sweets for his sweet tooth, or his enthusiasm for music, Brian lived these simple pleasures with gusto.

Memories shared include the presence of his loving family and his dog Beanie, and stories about sharing outside adventures with him. The simplicity of sitting on a swing with a friend in the sunshine, or the adventure of roller coasters, bungee jumping, and the Log Flume Ride are stories about a man who enjoyed a good life.

All of the seasons brought something outside that he appreciated. Whether he was spring time fishing, summer time camping with his parents and cooking hotdogs on a stick over a camp fire, watching the leaves change color in the fall, wintertime snow tubing, or relishing twinkling lights and Christmas carols as he accompanied the singers with a drum or piano, his joy at the seasons was evident in his infectious smile and laughter.

Music was important to Brian. He enjoyed drum circles and his music lessons at Hochstein Music School. He often kept a drum stick in his hands. He was a regular at Kingdom Bound Christian Music Festival and enjoyed the music at his church, The Father’s House.

Brian enjoyed the time he spent at Nine Mile Point Day Habilitation program, especially any activities that involved being outside, music and animals. He especially enjoyed trips to the zoo. When he could not get to the zoo he watched Animal Planet to maintain a connection with animals.

Brian found joy in being outside, laughter, music, and being with his friends and family. He expressed that joy with gusto.
