Patricia was born on September 27, 1955 to the late Ike (Sr) and Margaret (Hillsman) Humphrey in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She graduated from Pompano Senior High School in 1973 and moved to Rochester, NY in 1974 where she raised two beautiful children. Her passion for culinary arts led her to being employed for 14 years at the Century Club of Rochester as a Chef. She was the “great communicator” with family and friends; always remembering birthdays and special events and was always ready to lend a friendly ear. Her passion was cooking and baking and she was known for her generosity: sharing recipes, giving away food, even baking hundreds of cookies during the holidays in order to send tins to friends and relatives. She was joined in matrimony to Mark Sprague in 1999 and they enjoyed bike rides on the canal paths and more extensive travels (by car or plane) though the eastern United States. In 2015 she joined a sewing group “The Basement Angels” affiliated with “Dresses around the World” and as a member of the group sewed dresses that were sent to the less fortunate. She was wise, caring, loving, forgiving, vibrant and witty.
She is predeceased by her parents, a sister, Bernice Hillsman, and three brothers Robert Hillsman, Harry Humphrey and Arbie Humphrey
She is survived by her husband, Mark; a son, Kelesy Humphrey; daughter, Shameka Humphrey; granddaughter, Taylor Humphrey; great-grandson whom she adored, Cristiano Raymer-Cuifo; daughter-in-law Lorelei Sprague (Roy Hartmann), granddaughter Avery Hartmann, four sisters and nine brothers; Claretha Humphrey; Ike Humphrey, Jr (Janice); Brenda West, Dexter Humphrey (Debbie); Herbert Humphrey; Lois Overstreet (Jimmy); Robin Cooper; Tyrone Humphrey (Debbie); Reginald Humphrey (Sharon); Willie Humphrey (Kirstie); Albert Humphrey (Vonya); Herious Humphrey (Denise); Stanley Beasley (Maria), three aunts, an uncle, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 12pm-2pm, with a service at 2pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions in her name to the charity of their choice.
