Barb was born in Rochester, NY on May 4, 1941 to the late Frederick and Regina French. On December 1, 1962 Barb married the love of her life, James Piper. They were married for over 50 years until his passing in 2015. Together they raised five children. Her passion in life was her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is predeceased by her husband, James, her two sisters, Virginia, and Nora, her two brothers, Frederick, and Richard, and a host of aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Dave) Lyzwa, James (Tracey) Piper, Sandra (Troy) DiBenedetto, Susan (John) Gitsis, and Lorie (Jim) Keehn, her grandchildren, John (Mel), Stephanie (Josh), Steven (Kate), Tina, Cara, Liz (Brock), Katie (Stephen), Erin, Shannon, Jimmy, CJ, Hunter, Amanda, Scott (Rachelle), Anthony (Rebecca), Regina, and Joey (Sarah), her great-grandchildren, Conner, Emma, Dominick, Maddi, Piper, Savannah, Emmie, Alex, Aria, Madelynn, Nate, and Lincoln, and her siblings, Dolores and Charles.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626. A mass of Chrisitan burial will be celebrated at St. Johns The Evangelist Church, 2400 W Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14626, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 10am. Burial will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
