Predeceased by his father Richard Lewis Gardner Sr., step father, James Hortop, aunt Shirley (Harold) Stuart and uncle, George VanDusen jr.
Ricky is survived by his mother Elaine Hortop, his siblings, Donna (Chris) Calkins, Greg Gardner, Daniel Gardner, and Robert (Mern Van Orden Gardner) Gardner; nieces and nephews, Desiree (Josh) Sparks, Karl (Jessica) Gardner, Amber Van Orden, Crystal Van Orden-Gardner, Haley Gardner, and Robert Gardner II; great nephews, Bruce Sparks, Nash Sparks, great niece, Josephine Sparks; great aunts and uncle; many cousins and many, many friends.
Ricky graduated Canandaigua Academy in 1979 and was a longtime member of the A.B.A.T.E. motorcycle club of Ontario County.
He was also a longtime employee of Anthony Greco Painting in Geneva, New York.
He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Geneva Lodge 2397 where he was on the Bocce Team.
Ricky was an avid bowler and a member of multiple bowling teams.
He was an artist, and he specialized in drawing sailing ships.
Ricky really enjoyed cars, both models and vintage cars, and enjoyed frequenting shows throughout the country.
Ricky will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be Sunday, February 24th, from 1pm to 4pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd. His entombment will be held Monday February 25th, at 10am at Irondequoit Cemetery 3671 Culver Rd.
Family and friends will gather at the cemetery.
