Karl Joseph Jones, 57, passed away on June 11, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital after his three-year courageous battle with illness. He was the husband of Sonia N. Jones. They shared almost 33 years of marriage together in June.

Born in Rochester, NY, Karl was the son of Walter and Mary Jones. He completed high school in New Iberia, Louisiana and further education at ULL in Lafayette, Louisiana. Karl completed his associate degree in business at MCC in Rochester, NY. He was employed by the US Postal Service, where he worked and retired as a Mail Handler for 31 years.
Karl belonged to Our Mother of Sorrows Church (Greece, New York). He enjoyed bowling, karate/ action movies, playing cards, puzzles, trips to the casino, family vacations, catching up with friends, and caring for his family.

Karl will be remembered for his strength, charisma, sense of humor, and for being a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather.

Karl is survived by his wife, Sonia N. Jones; his children, Jayloni Jones, Alyssa (Michael) Kamm, and Corey Jones; twin grandchildren to be born in August of 2019; mother, Mary Vallot Jones; sister, Patricia Olivier; brothers, Michael Jones (all of New Iberia, Louisiana) and Gary (Kim) Jones; aunt, Dr. Peola Jackson (Orlando, Florida); aunts, Rita Paige and Bernice (Ronald) Gray; uncle, Raphael Vallot Jr. (Lousiana); mother in law, Zoraida Rodriguez; brother in laws, David (Mary) Rodriguez, Edwin Rodriquez, Robert Rodriquez and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and pets, Darby, Salina, Colby Jack and Lilly.

He was predeceased by his father, Walter H. Jones; maternal grandparents, Raphael and Ella Vallot Sr.; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Poindexter; uncle, Robert Paige; aunt, Betty Lou Vallot; brother in laws, Ramon Rodriquez, Nieves (Tony) Rodriguez and Martin Olivier and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.

Arrangements will be at New Comer Cremations and Funeral Home, located at 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626 on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 3 to 6 PM with service to follow.
