Gloria was born in Rochester, NY on October 28, 1924 to the late James and Betty Ansini. Her passion in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of the New York Yankees, and the Wizard of OZ. She always felt there was ‘no place like home!’
Gloria is predeceased by her husband, Mark Romano who passed away in 1962, her longtime partner, Ross Rizzo who passed away in 2001, and her son-in-law, James Bethany.
She is survived by her beloved children, Barbara Bethany, and Eugene Romano, her grandchildren, Andrea (Shaun) Kennedy, Mark (Christine) Romano, Joe Romano, Leah Romano, and Adam Romano, her great grandchildren, Madelyn Kennedy, and Mackenzie and Hailey Romano, her sister, Joan Pavone, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family wishes to thank John Connell and Nancy Kessler for all of their care and compassion they gave to Gloria.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 10:00am-12:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
Donations may be made in Gloria’s name to The Golisano Childrens Hospital, 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642.
