Henrietta-Josephine M. “Mommy Jo” Lucia, 97, passed away on October 28, 2019.

Josephine was born in Rochester, NY on August 17, 1922 to the late Edward and Cora Conte. Josephine was the wife of the late Anthony J. Lucia. They were married for over 60 years and together they raised four children. Josephine was a hard worker her whole life. She worked until she was 90 years old. Her last job was working with children at Seton Catholic School in the afterschool program. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her passion in life was her family, and cooking.

Josephine is predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony, and her siblings, Anita Conte, Edward T. Conte, and Bertha Cook.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Michael Colaneri) Campbell, Robert A. (Kathy) Lucia, Joanne (Ed) Borghi, and Arthur (Therese) Arcieri, her grandchildren, Christopher, Nicole, Rachel, Samantha, Louie, and Paulie, her great grandson, Jackson, her sister, Florence Dargento, her sister-in-law, Carole Conte, several god-children, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funeral, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14624, on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Marianne Cope, Guardian Angels Church, 2061 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623, on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 10:00am. Burial will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, Henrietta, NY.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Josephine’s name to the charity of your choice.
