ROCHESTER- Cleo P. Henderson, 99, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Cleo was born in Williamson, NC on November 4, 1920 to the late Frank and Chestine Everett. After graduating from high school Cleo moved to NJ. During the war she went to work in the factories as a printer to help the war effort. After the war, Cleo continued to work at many different jobs. In 1944 Cleo married the love of her life, Owen Henderson. They were married for 50 years until his passing in 1994. Cleo will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to travel and play bingo. Her passion in life was her family.
Cleo is predeceased by her husband, Owen, her son, Teddy Henderson, and her nine siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Constance Haqq, her seven grandchildren, Omar, Ishmael, Maryam, Aziya, Bilqis, Ayisha, and Jamal, and her nine great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609, on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 10:00am-12:00pm, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
