In Memory Of
First Lady Pearlie Mae Barley
1940 - 2020

Passed with her loved ones January 7, 2020 at the age of 79.

Survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Bishop Jimmy Barley; children, Brenda Mobley, Alfred Allen, Andrew Allen, Randy Allen, Grace Barley, Desiree Barley, Eric Barley, Shanta Barley, and LaShunda Barley; 31 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 3 godchildren; 2 sisters; 6 brothers; 9 sister in laws; 5 brother in laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her church family

Pearlie was a mother of House of Prayer Church. She will be remembered for her good humor, cooking and being a friend. No one ever left her house hungry. She would make hogshead cheese, barbeque sauce, and chitterlings. She was a great listener and counselor to many. She would crochet, making blankets for every baby, often saying "someone was making feet for socks" when a new baby was coming, knowing before anyone else.

Pearlie loved traveling and fishing but always was well dressed. She owned her own clothing shop, Pearl's Dress & Variety Shop, and ran her own family restaurant.

She was always a fighter even in her last days.

Calling hours will be Monday January 13, 6pm-9pm at Pilgrim Pentecostal Church, 63 Dr. Samuel McCree Way. Service will be Tuesday January 14, at 11am, with a burial following at Oakwood Cemetery.
