Rochester:
Passed away on February 13th, 2020 at the age of 87 after a brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Predeceased by her parents, Carl C. and Margaret S. Dobbertin; husband, Bobbie B. Steel; sisters, Irene Deckard and Eleanor Church. She is survived by her children, Linda Gebhardt of Vermont, Kathleen, Carolyn, Kenneth Steel; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brad) Bowman of Utah and Tyler (Alexandria) Gebhardt of Vermont; great-grandchildren, Julianne Gebhardt, Cooper Bowman and anticipated delivery of Gregory Gebhardt along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was a strong selfless, independent woman who loved her family. She worked at Kodak and retired from RIT. She was an avid gardener and a lover of nature, especially deer, birds and cats. Hobbies included cross stitch, needle work and puzzles. She is already greatly missed. Family will receive friends from 4PM - 6PM on Sunday February 16th, 2020, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. A graveside service will be held on Monday February 17th, at 11AM at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd Pittsford, NY 14534. Contributions may be made to Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd Fairport, NY 14450 or Advent House, 1010 Moseley Rd, Fairport NY, 14450.
