Passed peacefully Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at age 67 with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Dorothy. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Mary Kay, daughter; Callie (Tim Wilbert), son; Bob (Regina), grandchildren; Rose, Jack, William and Fiona, sisters; Pat Lankheet, Jeanne (Richard) Leasure, Kate Appleby (Jim Barbour), brother; Joe (Melinda) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was a retiree of Rochester Fire Department, Engine Companies 1, 7 and 3, Knights of Columbus, a United States Marine Corp Veteran, a member of American Legion Ferris Goodridge Post# 330 as well as an usher at Sacred Heart Cathedral. He was also an avid runner who was very involved in the Rochester running community.

John's family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10th form 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday, June 11th at 10:30am. Private interment In lieu of flowers please feel free to make donations to: Golisano Children's Hospital 601 Elmwood Avenue Rochester, NY 14642.
