Went home on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 104.
Predeceased by her parents, brother and sisters and her husbands, Horace (Pat) Hirschler and Peter Dewind, children Dolores(Mario) DeBlasis and Ronald(Barbara) Hirschler, son-in-law Frank Desko. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Desko, grandchildren, Maria(Mark) Moore, Sandra Whitcomb, Steven(Kathleen) Hirschler, Chris(Isabel) Hirschler, Pamela Desko, Cheryl Desko and Donna Stone, and her grandson-in-law, Robert Whitcomb. Great grandchildren, Gabriella Moore, Robert Jr. and Jesse Whitcomb, Erik and Christopher Stone. Great Great granddaughter Logan Stone. Many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Rita was a private care nurse. She loved to do ceramics, crafts, bowling, dancing, playing cards and the slots. She dedicated her time to the American Legion Auxiliary #464 (Greece)and the Marian League at St. Jude.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Jude’s 4100 Lyell Rd, Rochester, NY 14606, on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10:00am.
