Pete is predeceased by his parents, Frances and Stanislaus Mietus, his first wife and mother of his children, Alberta, and his granddaughter Alle Shea Collazo.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hooper-Mietus, son Peter (Susan) Mietus Jr., daughter Kim (Angelo) Collazo, daughter Amy (Craig) Welker, step-son John (Michele) Hooper, step-son Jeff (Susan) Hooper, grandchildren: Alexandra Welker, Christian Welker, Caleb Welker, Miller Mietus, Curtis Welker, Connor Welker, Ella Collazo, Casey Welker, step grandsons,Ryan and Aidan Hooper and beloved dog Tiffany.
He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Pete worked hard to provide and care for his family. He worked at Xerox for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. Pete was constantly tending to his home, yard and cars as well as the homes, yards and cars of his loved ones. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626, on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4:00pm-5:30pm, with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 9am.
