Richard Richardson was born in Salters, SC, on August 9, 1938, to the late Walter and Florence Richardson.
Richard Richardson attended Canandaigua Academy High School where he became captain of the football team and class president during the late 1940’s.
Later moving to Rochester, NY in the 1950’s to continue his life in entrepreneurship opening doors in entertainment by managing musical acts. Richard owned a bar and lounge, where his musical acts would perform as well as many famous musical artists we know and love today. Richard also owned many auto shops that he maintained up until his death, as well as property management.
Richard enjoyed life! He was an avid sports lover, having been to 40+ super bowls, he traveled the world, he shared his joy with family and friends by exposing them to more while encouraging others to be more. Richard was an advocate for moving forward in life and breaking barriers set to limit. He made his mark, and we will miss him. He will always be with us.
Richard is predeceased by daughter Velma E Richardson, brothers James (Ada) Scott, Nathaniel (Reatha) McCray and sister Eva (Benjamin) Swinton.
Richard is survived by wife of 54 years Alma Richardson, son Robert “Clay” Richardson grandchildren Branden J Dickerson, Kiersten S Smith, Chloe M Richardson, Ellen F Richardson and great grandchildren Y’Nejah Davis, Braneh E Dickerson, Branden J Dickerson jr. and Brielle G Dickerson great great granddaughter C’Naleyah River and a host of nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, NY 14609, on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 9am-11am. A service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
