Juan Manuel Ayala, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023 at home, at the age of 101, surrounded by family and friends. Juan was born to Ignacio and Clisanta Ayala in Manati, Puerto Rico, but lived most of his life in Brooklyn, NY and most recently Rochester, NY

Juan was best known for his love of family, his silly sayings and his fun-loving ways.

He was pre-deceased by his son, Angel Ayala; his grandson, John Gabriel Ayala and his son-in-law, Gary Wall.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Carmen and their 7 children: John (Melinda) Ayala, Maria Sanchez, Jose (Elizabeth) Ayala, Rosa (James) Lewicke, Irene Wall, Juan "Charlie" Ayala, and Ana (Richard) Topolewski. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Juan Ramon Sanchez; who lovingly cared for him in his final days, Jonah Sanchez, Alexis Ayala, Julio Alvarado, Yahaira Roe, Alexa Ayala, Tia Gonzalez, Alexander Lewicke, Gary Wall Jr, Cassidy Wall, Matthew Topolewski, Ava Topolewski, Gia Topolewski, Marilyn Ferrer, Loyda Ayala, Sedith Ayala and many, many great grandchildren.
