In Memory Of
Daniel Joseph Alfred "Danny" Martin
1942 - 2023

Daniel passed away in the early morning hours of May 30, 2023, after fighting a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He is Pre-deceased by his son Dennis Peter (wife Myra)

He is Survived by his loving wife Wanda M., His sons, William, Daniel J Jr., John C, and his daughter Connie Leach (husband Walter)

He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

“Danny” – “Dad” – “Poppy”, was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and good friend to many.

He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. When people say he was the type of man that would give you the shirt off his back, well he truly was that man.

He has graciously opened his home on many, many, occasions throughout his lifetime to not only family, but to friends alike who needed shelter without ever asking for anything in return.

Coming from a childhood with very little, he started to work at a very young age and never stopped.

It took a lifetime of that hard work to develop his hands of steel but also his heart of gold.

It gave him great pride knowing that his children would never experience a life without. They would always have a roof over their heads and plenty of food on the table to fill their bellies (and anyone else’s bellies who happened to stop by.)

He loved taking trips with his kids when they were younger, and he loved camping and fishing in his retirement years.

For those of you who knew Danny well, know that all the above is absolutely true. And for those of you who didn’t know him, please know that you have missed meeting a GREAT, GREAT man.

You will be sadly missed and greatly loved by ALL.

May you rest in peace and may you fly with the angels. We know you will be a great guardian angel to many and will watch down upon us.

Give a big hug to our other angels you now fly with.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 9th at 2PM in the Chapel in Riverside Cemetery, 2560 Lake Ave., Rochester, N.Y. 14612
