Amada Casiano, born in San German, Puerto Rico, beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother, Friend to everyone she met, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2019, at the age of 93.
Her life was all about being involved - Amada was a fun, very generous, loving, dedicated to her family, very caring strong woman. She was a homemaker, she volunteered for the Board of Elections in Puerto Rico as well as in Rochester, NY. She also worked as a Teacher's Aide in Brooklyn, NY. She quickly learned English in order to fit in and navigate through the American way of life.
Amada was caregiver to her mother, Carmen and husband, Alejandro, until their passing. She was a great cook and hostess, the 'hub' of the family! She made all feel welcome in her home and in her heart.
She is predeceased by her Father, David Casiano; Mother, Carmen Quinones; Husband, Alejandro Velazquez; Son, Alejandro Ramos; Brothers, Jose Casiano, Efrain Casiano; and Sister, Maria Casiano.
Survivors include her daughters, Carmen Ramos of Rochester, NY, Toni Ramos of Delray Beach, FL; Sister, Auria Olan, Grandchildren, Laura McNeill (Luis) of Pompano Beach, FL, and Anthony Ramos of FL; Great Grandchildren Arnold, Joshua, Destiney, Anthony, and Gioni; Great Great Grandchildren, Brooklynn Alvarez, Chase Alvarez, Karson Alvarez and Karter Alvaraez and Julian Ramos; and a host of cousins, nieces & nephews.
Family & friends may gather together to say goodbye at the New Comer Funeral Home at 6 Empire Blvd. & Culver Road, Rochester, NY, on Sunday, December 22, 2019, from 1 pm to 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Amada's favorite charity was St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
