Andrew Patrick Anvelt

January 26, 1955 - July 30, 2011

Andy was one of 4 siblings and was born in Rochester, NY. Andy was a graduate of Brockport State College. He is predeceased by his parents, Tonis and Renate Anvelt. He leaves behind 2 sisters: Marge Russel, Vivian Gifford (Glenn) and one brother Peter (Karen) nieces and nephew as well as family in Latvia and Estonia. He loved fishing as a boy, golf, table tennis (competed in the Nationals), loved dogs and despite ups and downs continued to have faith for a better tomorrow. Andrew loved as well children and had a heart for the third world countries and the poor and especially for Calcutta, India where he mentioned in his journal how they needed so much help from richer countries and he wanted to visit there in years to come. He now rests in the arms of Jesus.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Here is an excerpt from my brother's journal that I found this week. He truly had a strong faith in God and finding this in his journal brought us great comfort knowing his heart was in God's hands and he loved the Lord. Andy lives on in eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Statement of Faith (from Andrew Anvelt's journal dated October 5, 2010)

I believe that you God are the Creator and Sustainer of all things, living and inanimate, spiritual and physical, intellectual and emotional. For this reason I believe that in you, for you and through you I find purpose, ability and reason to live and move and have my being. Without your breath of life, I would crumble into nothing. And by your breath I am revived, complete and held together.

I believe you are the great I AM, eternally present, without constraint of time, limitless in power and beauty, mercy and love, justice and holiness. Your glory beyond brilliance radiates throughout the universe.

You alone are worthy of praise. Let my life blaze with praises to you, the Almighty God, Great Jehovah, Abba Father, amen.
