Rochester: Friday, July 29, 2011, one week shy of his 85th birthday after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Born August 6, 1926. A veteran of WWII. Predeceased by his parents, Phil and Rose; siblings, Joseph, Dominic, Anthony, and Mary Lou as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Glenna (Lockwood); daughters, Bonnie Jermyn (John Leach), Mary Anne Gombatto (Steve Miller), Sharon Gombatto and son, Charles, and his "bodyguard"; close friend, Art von Rathonyi. He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Annette Vincent, Gerard (Linda) Gombatto; brother-in-law, Joe Fingland; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Vera Gombatto. He leaves behind a large, loving family of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family members and dear friends that will miss him.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Rochester Lifetime Care, 3111 Winton Rd. South, Rochester, NY 14620.
