Rochester: Friday, July 29, 2011, one week shy of his 85th birthday after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Born August 6, 1926. A veteran of WWII. Predeceased by his parents, Phil and Rose; siblings, Joseph, Dominic, Anthony, and Mary Lou as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Glenna (Lockwood); daughters, Bonnie Jermyn (John Leach), Mary Anne Gombatto (Steve Miller), Sharon Gombatto and son, Charles, and his "bodyguard"; close friend, Art von Rathonyi. He will be greatly missed by his 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Annette Vincent, Gerard (Linda) Gombatto; brother-in-law, Joe Fingland; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Vera Gombatto. He leaves behind a large, loving family of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family members and dear friends that will miss him.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
