Angelo Guarino, a cherished member of the Rochester community, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on October 16, 1941, in Rochester, NY, Angelo dedicated his life to his family and his work, exemplifying love, commitment, and tireless effort in all he pursued.
As a transportation trainer for over thirty years with the Churchville Chili School System, Angelo was known for his patience and dedication to the safety and well-being of the children he served. Prior to his fulfilling career in education, he spent 32 years with Kodak, where he honed his skills and earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Angelo’s personality shone through in many ways; he was often referred to as "Mr. Fix-It," showcasing his talent as a well-rounded jack of all trades. Alongside his passion for physical fitness and weightlifting, he found joy in working outdoors and assisting his neighbors. His dedication to his family was immeasurable; he adored his grandchildren and took pride in imparting wisdom and treasured moments to them. Notably, he was never without a candy stash, often found with treats tucked into his pockets, delighting both young and old alike.
His artistic flair transformed ordinary memories into treasured experiences, from his fondness for flannel shirts to his pride in maintaining his 1963 Grand Prix. This classic car was more than just a vehicle; it embodied the memories of his honeymoon and the many milestones shared with his family, including the joyous celebrations at his daughters' weddings.
Angelo's service to his country in the Army Reserves further illustrated his commitment to his community and those around him. He had a unique bond with his dogs, Jay and Luke, who were sources of joy and companionship throughout his life. The friendships he cultivated, particularly within his beloved coffee gang, were a testament to the warmth and spirit he brought to every interaction.
Angelo is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Annette; his daughters, Lori (Chris) Thompson, Angela (Mark) Houser, and Lisa; his cherished grandchildren, Mark (Lisa), Nicholas, Joshua, Danielle, Johnathan, Christopher, and Casie; his great-granddaughter, Vera; and his brother, Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Rose Guarino.
A visitation with family will be held on December 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY. A funeral mass will be held on December 22, at 12PM at St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church, 3350 Union Street, North Chili, NY 14514.
Ange Guarino will be remembered not only for his impressive accomplishments and dedication to work and family, but also for the love and laughter he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched and in the many lives he enriched throughout his time.
