Ann Joan Caluori SanFillipo passed away on January 29, 2026, just 12 days after celebrating her 99th birthday.
Ann was born January 17, 1927 in Waterbury, CT, the oldest daughter of Emil Caluori and Josephine DeCaro Caluori.
Trained in Secretarial Science following an early graduation from Madison High School, she worked at Rockefeller Center followed by a brief position at The Pentagon.
She returned to Rochester where she met Angelo SanFillipo. They got married on July 17, 1954 at Corpus Christi Church. Ann and Angelo were married for 57 years before his death in 2012. They resided in Irondequoit, overlooking the Bay, with sons Steven and Brian.
After raising her sons she learned to drive at age 40, then embarked on a fulfilling career as an Executive Assistant at Xerox Corporation. There, she learned, then mastered The Star workstation; the precursor to word-processing. She worked for 10 years before retiring.
She and Angelo enjoyed traveling to warmer climates in Arizona, Hawaii and Florida. Most of all, Ann enjoyed shopping! Ann spent her last six years at the Episcopal Church Home. She was an avid reader and proudly served as the house Librarian, working in conjunction with the Rundell Public Library. She was thrilled when her butterfly painting won first place and was publicly displayed. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, and bingo where she was feared for her winning prowess.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son Steven, brother Edmund Caluori, sister Sylvia Caluori Gullo Driscoll and husband Angelo.
Ann is survived by son Brian, grandson Angelo, beloved granddaughter Heather, great-grandson Logan and daughter-in-law Nonna.
She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews, and family friends Gary and Karen Gullo.
Her rice pudding will long be remembered as a family favorite!
Private services will be held at a later date when her ashes will be interred near her beloved brother Edmund Caluori at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Ann frequently mentioned how grateful she was to the staff of the ECH. Her family thanks you for taking such good care of her.
