Anna Maude Bliss Harrison, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025. Born in Jerusalem, New York, she was one of 15 children of Edna Catherine Walker Bliss and Albert George Bliss. She was a proud graduate of Penn Yan High School and the Rochester School of Practical Nursing, dedicating her career to caring for others as an LPN.
Anna married Richard Harrison on September 12, 1951, and together they raised five children. She was a longtime member of Jefferson Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in family, faith, her beloved pets, and a good milkshake.
She adored black-and-white TV shows, especially The Lawrence Welk Show, which she watched weekly with fresh enthusiasm. In recent years, she discovered YouTube and delighted in rewatching her favorite classics.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Richard; her children Mark and Michelle; her parents, Edna and Albert Bliss; and 9 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her children Dennis Harrison (Essa), Catherine Vincente, and Richard “Ricky” Harrison Jr.; her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will continue to honor her memory.
A viewing will be held from 11-12pm on Friday, May 16th at New Ebenezer SDA Church, 2710 Chili Ave. A Service will follow at 12pm.
