Anne Shatraw (Almekinder)

Passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2026 at the age of 74.

Predeceased by her parents, John & Jane Bauer; husband, Dale Almekinder; first husband, David Shatraw; son, Davey Shatraw; & sister, Karen Bauer.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Stephen) Smith & Kristina (Carl) Shubert; grandchildren, Shelby (Charles) Yockel, Garret (Leah) Smith, Ryann (Brandee) Shubert & Darrick (Jenna) Smith; great-grandchildren, Gavyn, Lucas, Ranezmae & Rory Rose; brother, John (Theresa) Bauer; childhood best friend, Becky (Thomas) Schaeffer; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and of course all her beloved cats.

With many hardships in life, Anne was a hardworking single mother. Fighting a courageous battle, overcoming Thyroid cancer. Her biggest favorite past time was playing Bingo & enjoying time with her family, friends & cats.

She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed, she will be in our hearts forever. We are all sending big hugs & kisses up to heaven! May you finally rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, in honor of Anne, donations can be made to an animal rescue of your choosing.

A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Kendall Fire Hall, 1879 Kendall Road, Kendall, NY 14476.
