Anthony "Tony" Suero

Anthony Suero passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on June 20, 1942, Anthony lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and the joy of sharing food with others. He was a chef his entire life, a calling he carried with pride and dedication. For 20 years, he owned Mama Rosa's restaurant, where he worked alongside several family members and created a place shaped by his care, commitment, and love of cooking.

Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Isabella. He was also predeceased by his father, Aniello Suero, and his mother, Rosa Suero; by his brothers Frank (Maria) Suero and Pasquale (Maria) Suero; by his sister Pasqualina Suero; by his sister Carmella (Pasquale) Russo; by his sister Maria (Ulbado) Insogna; and by his sister-in-law, Carol Suero.

He leaves behind a family who will continue to carry his memory with love. He is survived by his daughter, Roseanna Vitale and her husband, Richard C. Vitale Jr., and by his son, Aneillo Suero. He is also survived by his grandchildren Richard A. Vitale and his wife, Hannah, Angela Flynn and her husband, John, Anthony Vitale and his wife, Jennifer, and Anthony Suero. His legacy extends to his great-grandchildren Santino, Jameson, Gemma, and Goldie Vitale, and Theodore, Jett, and Rosie Flynn, each of whom is part of the family line he cherished so deeply.

Anthony is also survived by his brother, Clemente Suero, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He will be remembered with affection by all who shared in his life, his table, and his enduring devotion to family.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing on October 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, Eastside, 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609. Interment will take place on October 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY 14612.

Anthony’s life was one of steady love, meaningful work, and deep family bonds. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
