ARTHUR JAMES REEESE SR. 1948-2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur James Reese Senior, who departed peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by his family. 

Arthur, a United States Army veteran, served his country honorably as a Senior Special Purpose Equipment Repair Parts Specialist in Germany under the 94th Engineer Battalion. He achieved the rank of Specialist (SP4) and was awarded the Good Conduct Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for his honorable service to our nation. Arthur was born on Flag Day June 14, 1948, in Columbia, South Carolina where he lived and attended C. A Johnson High School graduating class of 1966 and relocating to Rochester New York in June 1966 where he met Anita Brumfield on his first day in town, and married September 4, 1968. Arthur was the epitome of hard work and dedication with 25-plus years at Eastman Kodak as an Emulsions Coating Engineer, and ten years as a driver with the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority Lift Line.Arthur and Anita went on to have four children Tammi Reese, Arthur Reese Jr., Denise Reese, and Robert Reese. Ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Reese and Cynthia Joseph, and a host of niece‘s nephews cousins aunts, and uncles pre-deceased, by his mother Elizabeth, Joseph, and his father Willie Robert Joseph.

A celebration of life for Art or Jerry as he was affectionately called by his numerous coworkers, friends, and family will be held on January 13, 2026 calling hours at 11 service at 12 noon. Repast directly after service. In Christ New Hope Ministries 155 Pinnacle Rd. Rochester, NY 14623.

 Burial will be on January 14, 2026. Western New York National Military Cemetery. 1254 Indian Falls Rd., Corfu, NY. 14036 at 11 AM.

He will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in our hearts. We love you, Papa!
