Betty J. Hitchcock, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, gracefully departed this world on August 25, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 30, 1945, in Rochester, she spent her life nurturing the bonds of family and friendship, creating a legacy marked by warmth, love, and devotion.

Betty was the proud mother of three daughters: Julie (Dan) Fox, Patty Crawford, and Jill (John) Hitchcock, son James ( Preena ) Traub. Her heart swelled with joy at the accomplishments of her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. John (Danielle) Duthoy, Paul (Brittany) Duthoy, Kaleigh (Scott) Reid, Spencer Reid, Audrey (Nick) Gibbins, Rachel Reid, Dylan, Emma Traub, Evie Aeckerle, and Eli Aeckerle along with her great-grandchildren Aubrey, Olivia, Jameson, Adalyn Duthoy, and Camilla Coia, were her pride and joy—her proudest accomplishments that filled her life with meaning and happiness.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Judy Noyes, as well as many nieces and nephews who were fortunate to have her in their lives. Betty’s family circle radiated her love, and she created countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

Betty carried with her the memory of her parents, John and Verna Ingersoll, who have preceded her, along with her brothers, William and Glenn Ingersoll. She also remembered with fondness her late husbands, Robert Traub and Vernon Hitchcock, who held special places in her heart.

Betty’s hobbies brought her immense joy; she could often be found in her kitchen, baking and cooking with love, or tending to her beloved plants. She relished sharing meals with her family and friends, showcasing her culinary skills while fostering connections that transcended mere gatherings. Each dish was a gesture of love, and every meal shared was an occasion to celebrate the bonds that enriched her life.

Her kindness and gentle spirit lingered in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty J. Hitchcock’s life was a testament to the beauty of love, family, and nurturing, and her memory will forever be a cherished part of those she leaves behind.
