With heavy hearts and loving memories, we announce the passing of Betty Parris, who left us on August 5, 2026. Born on September 14, 1948, in Eastman, Georgia, Betty’s life was a journey marked by quiet strength, steadfast devotion to her family, and a deep sense of kindness that touched all fortunate enough to know her.
From her earliest days in Eastman, Betty brought warmth wherever she went. She was the beloved daughter of the late James Northcutt and Essie Mae Northcutt Smith, who surely welcomed her with open arms on her journey home. Their guidance and influence shaped the thoughtful and caring person Betty would become.
Betty’s life was a testament to dedication and hard work. She dedicated many years of loyal service to Eastman Kodak, where her commitment and diligence were evident to colleagues and friends alike. Later, she continued her career at Tops Markets in Spencerport, creating connections with customers and coworkers in equal measure, touching lives with her gentle, friendly manner.
Above all, Betty cherished her family. She is survived by her sisters, Juanita Sharpe and Doris Northcutt; her brothers, Cleveland Hunt, Kenneth Northcutt, and Matthew Northcutt; and her dear friend Kathleen Harris. Their love for Betty speaks to the bonds she nurtured—a network of care, laughter, support, and shared memories that now become lasting treasures. The loss of a sister, a friend, and a confidant is deeply felt by each of them, but so too is the legacy of love she leaves behind.
As the days pass, those who knew Betty will recall the stories, smiles, and gentle encouragement she offered so freely. Even in the simplest of moments, she found ways to make those around her feel seen and appreciated.
A visitation to honor Betty’s memory will be held at the New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626, on August 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at the same location from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, where loved ones will gather to remember and celebrate a life well-lived.
Though Betty has departed from our sight, her presence remains ever near—in hearts, in memories, and in the enduring love of her family and friends. She will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
