With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Burnette Turner Gamble, who peacefully entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on June 1, 2026, at the age of 86.

Burnette was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, cherished great-grandmother, beloved aunt, faithful friend, and dedicated servant of God. Her life was marked by kindness, compassion, generosity, and unwavering faith. She was loving and caring, yet she could also be stern when needed. She believed in doing what was right, standing by her values, and teaching her family the importance of respect, discipline, responsibility, and integrity. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and strong convictions made her a source of wisdom, guidance, and strength for those who knew and loved her.

Born on October 19, 1939, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Olin Samuel Turner and Henrietta Patterson-Turner. Burnette was the youngest of thirteen children, a position she carried with grace, humor, and a special bond with her siblings and extended family. She treasured family above all else and created countless memories through family gatherings, reunions, visits, and trips to see loved ones in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Miami, and beyond. She was also a world traveler with her sisters which included Hawaii, Jamaica and Bahama and more.

Burnette was a faithful member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Rochester, New York. She joyfully served in the Mass Choir, where she often sang lead on many beloved songs. She was also a member of the Gospel Choir and the Angellets, sharing her love for gospel music in churches throughout the Rochester community and beyond. Her voice was a blessing to many, and her praise and worship were always offered from the depths of her heart.

After retiring from Kodak in 1992, Burnette moved to Florence, SC. Burnette dedicated herself to serving others through church, volunteer work and community service. She was a foster mother and devoted countless hours to helping those in need. Throughout her life, she earned numerous certificates and recognitions for her dedication and service, including honors from Aging and Senior Volunteer programs, hospital systems, leadership training organizations, educational programs, and community service initiatives.

Among her many accomplishments were certificates recognizing outstanding volunteer service, including leadership training, cashier training, scouting leadership development, sewing education, and community engagement. She received recognition from the Division of Aging, the Carolinas Hospital System for 150 hours of outstanding volunteer service, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, and numerous other organizations. She was honored as Volunteer of the Month for her enthusiasm, dedication, and tireless commitment to helping others. These awards represent only a small portion of the many lives she touched through her selfless service.

Burnette loved to dance, she enjoyed shopping and could happily spend hours browsing stores, especially craft stores. often leaving with little more than a smile and the enjoyment of the experience. Burnette was a small business owner. She loved to buy homes and cars. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and watching future generations grow and thrive.

While our hearts mourn Mommy passing, we rejoice in knowing that she has been welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Her legacy of faith, service, love, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
