Carol E. Blodgett
Traverse City, MI/Rochester: Passed away in Traverse City, Michigan, on June 4, 2015, at age 89. She was born on April 6, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Gertrude (Schroeder) Cornman and died on June 4, 2015 in Traverse City, Michigan. After graduating from Gage Park High School she married John Gluck also from Chicago. After spending six years farming in southern Indiana, Carol moved to Rochester in 1952. She began as a keypunch operator at General Railway Signal and spent the remainder of her career as a computer operator for Taylor Instrument Co. Carol married Willis Blodgett in 1957. She moved to Michigan in 2013. She was an avid reader and gardener and enjoyed spending time at her cottage in northern New York. Her adventures included boating and canoeing, parasailing, jet skiing and flying in an ultra light. She devoted much of her time to Gates Volunteer Ambulance and was active at her church as organist and treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis, and one grandson. She is survived by her son, Chris (Karen) Gluck of Traverse City, MI; her daughter Esther White of Rochester, NY; a stepdaughter Linda (Les) Glotzbach of Scottsville, NY; 6 grand-children and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at New Comer Funeral Home at 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, on Monday, June 8th from 5-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Genesee Park Blvd. Seventh-day Adventist Church at 391 Genesee Park Blvd. at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 9th.
