In loving memory of Carolyn Ruth Elliott Peevey
Carolyn, a beloved mother of seven and mom to many, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 93.
Her passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. To her children, she was more than a mother; she was a source of love, strength, and endless caring. Her gentle heart and generous spirit touched the lives of so many.
She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, patience, and the love she so freely gave to her family and others. She cherished her quilting and sewing, creating beautiful things with her hands and sharing her talents with those around her. Some of her happiest moments were spent teaching ceramics, where she found joy in creating, teaching, and encouraging others.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, J. W. Peevey; sons, William Rivera and Timothy Gaspar; parents, Hugh and Dorothy Elliott; and her sisters, Laura Elliott-Engel and Sharon Elliott.
She is survived by her children, Sandra (Don) Weagley, Cindy (Wade) Ingerick, Hugh (Rich) Gaspar, Johnnie (Natalie) Peevey, Wendy Cymerman; sister, Ruth Wells; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; niece, Amaris; and nephew, Jeremy.
We honor her by carrying forward the love, lessons, and memories she gave us. Many had a favorite musical she shared. She will be missed beyond words and loved for as long as we live.
Over the years we will hear her voice reminding us of something she knew so well: "This too shall pass"
The days will go on, and we will learn to live with her absence. But we will never stop loving her, never stop missing her, and never stop carrying her with us.
A Graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, September 9th at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1133 Mt. Hope Ave.
Rest peacefully, mom, grandma sunshine. A part of us went with you, but so much of you will always remain in us.
