Carolyn Joy Zazzara, born on November 12, 1946, passed away peacefully at her home on September 20, 2025. Carol led a fulfilling life marked by her dedication to her work and a deep love for her family and friends.
For many years, she contributed her talents to the finance department at St. Ann's Community, where her commitment and professionalism earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Debra Zazzara, her fiancé, Alain Benhamou, his sons Philippe (Corinne) and Paul (Megan), as well as their cherished children. She also leaves behind her brother, Gene (Gail) Battaglia, and many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and fondness.
An enthusiastic collector, Carol had a penchant for figurines, particularly elephants, squirrels, and robins, which decorated her home and brought her joy. She cherished the moments spent with family, especially those shared with Alain's grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Carol delighted in attending various festivals, with a special fondness for the Fairport Canal Days, and she enjoyed the simple pleasure of dining out and savoring a good meal.
Carol's visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, Eastside, located at 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM at the same location, concluding with a graveside service at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd, Pittsford, NY, at 2:15 PM.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Teresa Battaglia, and though they are no longer with us, their legacy and influence remain a guiding light for all who knew and loved her. Carol’s spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
