Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the age of 61. She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Mike" Hammel; daughters, Mary Catherine Nichols, Jessica (Eric) Wolfe; step-daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Cruppi, Rachel Kimmel; step-son, Thomas (Danielle) Hammel; sisters, Mary (Harry) Miller, Anne Farnand, Bernadette Ogden, Theresa (Terry) Wright, Margaret (James) Brewer, Michele Lupo, Bridget (Scott) Schmid; brothers, Paul Gehan, Frank Gehan, Larry (Pam) Gehan; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Catherine was a mother, sister, wife and teacher. She lived her life with dignity and grace, and she handled her illness the same way.
Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue (corner of Long Pond Road ). Funeral Service will be held at 7 PM in the chapel of the funeral home to follow. Interment, private. Contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in Catherine's memory.
