Charles "Charlie" Stone

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 30, 2026, at age 91.

Charlie is predeceased by his parents, George Stone and Amelia Ciranni; his sister, Dorothy Kazak; and his faithful companion, Mookie.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Thomas; his grand-pup, Piper; brothers-in-law, Roy (Margaret) Letta, and John (Nancy) Letta; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Charlie grew up in Rochester and graduated from Madison High School where he played baseball and basketball. His favorite story was how he hit a homerun over the light pole in Genesee Valley Park. He also served in the Army during the Korean War. Charlie was a renowned mixologist extraordinaire at the Hof Brau Haus and Antonetta’s Restaurant, where he was famous for his Hawaiian shirts and constant whistling. He loved sports, and had an incredible memory for sports trivia, especially baseball. He loved playing Quick draw, and his monthly lunches with his son, Tom, brothers-in-law, Roy and John, and nephew Paul. His latest obsession was game shows. He would yell out answers, and complain about what the contestants were doing. Charlie loved his Black Velvet, and even had some on the day he passed.

Family and friends are welcome Wednesday, August 5th from 3-6 pm at New Comer Creations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 pm at the funeral home.

Charlie was a pain in the ass, but he was our pain in the ass, and we loved him and will miss him.
