Cheryl A. Nieves, passed peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the age of 81. She embraced life fully, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, devotion, and creativity.
Born on February 28, 1944, Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Milton and Charlotte Bradshaw, who predeceased her. She is also preceded in death by her dear sister, Bonnie Campbell, and her sister-in-law, Vicki Bradshaw.
She was the devoted wife of Nelson E. Nieves Sr., with whom she shared 64 years of unwavering partnership. Together, they nurtured a loving family that will carry forward her enduring spirit. She is survived by her children, Joann (William) Colby Sr., Nelson (Tracee) Nieves Jr., and Douglas (Jennifer Nuci) Nieves Sr., each of whom is a testament to her steadfast love and guidance.
Her legacy continues to flourish through her grandchildren: Renee (Derek) Sterling, William (Ashley) Colby Jr., Laura (Nick Minuto) Colby, Kamri (Gregory) Reynolds, Douglas Nieves Jr., and Derek Nieves. Cheryl’s joy was further amplified by her great-grandchildren—Colton, Gage, William, Wyatt, Emma, and Katie.
Cheryl’s talents were as multifaceted as her spirit; she was a dedicated bus driver for over 20 years for the Wayne Central School District. In her community, she was well-known as a vital figure in the family business, Bradshaw Florist, in Walworth, NY, where her creativity blossomed in every arrangement she crafted.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Cheryl was a gifted seamstress and an accomplished organist. Her passion for knitting also yielded gifts handcrafted with love, a true reflection of her nurturing nature.
She leaves behind her brother, Grant Bradshaw, and her brother-in-law, Jorge Nieves, along with many cherished nieces and nephews, all who will forever hold her memory near.
Cheryl A. Nieves will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her life touched countless hearts, and her legacy remains in the beautiful tapestry of memories she created with family and friends. Family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life on Tuesday, October 28th, from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lollypop Farm in Cheryl's memory.
