Hartman, Claude E., Jr.
Loving father, grandfather and uncle passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 shortly after midnight in Owensville, MO at the age of 86.
Predeceased by his wife Dorothy, his parents Claude and Elizabeth Hartman and his sister Jane Kirch. He is survived by his children Lynn A. Hartman of MO, Craig E. Hartman, and Lawrence A. (Patricia) Hartman; brother Richard J. Hartman; grandchildren Benjamin L., Matthew K. and Michael J. Hartman; sister-in-law Bette (Lloyd) Breeser; 17 nieces and nephews.
Claude was a Mason and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. An avid outdoorsman, he spent 51 summers on the French River in Ontario, Canada. An engineer by trade, Claude loved to design and build things at the cottage; so much so that several neighbors nick named him the "Beaver". His cottage on the French River was the place he loved the most and where he was happiest.
Family and friends may call Saturday, May 3rd from 9:30AM to 11:00AM At Atonement Lutheran Church, 1900 Westfall Road. Memorial Service to follow at 11:00AM.
Interment immediately following the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
All friends and family are invited to attend a catered memorial luncheon at Dolomite Lodge immediately following interment.
