Larkins, Cynthia Olivia
Rochester: Cynthia Olivia Larkins daughter of William Jonier Williamson, and Thelma Williamson was born December 24th 1954 in Jamaica, Queens New York. Her higher education started at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn New York. At this point it was clearly recognized Cynthia had exceptional talent for writing. Her first challenge was at Scholastic Publisher where she edited very popular children books, and magazines. She married George Larkins and settled down to raise four children in St. Albans, Queens, New York, while ministering with her husband in various African Methodist Episcopal (AME) churches in southern and western New York for more than 25 years. After relocating to Rochester New York she continued her education at Houghton College in Dansville New York. She also worked for Rochester City School District grants office from which she retired early because of a disability. Cynthia was a very charming outgoing woman who was never at a loss for words. She was blessed with a natural humor that was evident to anyone who came in contact with her. She was confident, extremely articulate, and very classy. She was a devoted mother, loving wife, a world traveler and most of all a child of God.

After an extended illness, she returned to her Heavenly Father on March 8th, 2012. Cynthia is survived by her husband of 31 years Rev. George Lee Larkins III, Ed.
