Passed unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at age 75 with his family at his side. Predeceased by his father, William Wahl, and mother Jane W. Kenney, aunts, uncles and cousins. Survived by his wife and life partner of 54 years, Carol; his son, David M. Wahl; son and daughter in-law, Mark (Carole) Wahl; mother-in-law, Josephine C. LaVilla; sister and brother-in-law, Christine (Tina) and Joseph Schmitt; brothers-in-law, Edward Fiorino (Rae Mungillo), John Fiorino (Sue Granby), Thomas (Sonny) Fiorino (Diane); step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; uncles, Thomas (Joanne) Walsh, Jack Murphy, Thomas Lancie; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; special neighbors, Angela, Roger, Peter and Stephanie Dolliver whom Dave considered his extended family and special camping buddies, Amy Dryja and Jacob Stadnyk.
Dave was retired from RG&E with 40 years of dedicated service. He was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Independence CVA62. He was past president and senior honorary member of Lake Plains Waterfowl Association, a life sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, a life member of the Gates Fire Dept. and a member of the American Legion. Dave's favorite thing to do was to hunt ducks and shoot sporting clays with his sons and brother in-law. David loved his family, his
friends and his SUV.
He was a very special guy and will be missed by all.
Per Dave's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Mass will be held at St Monica's Church, 34 Monica St. on Wednesday, July 8th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dave's name to Honor Flight or Lake Plains Waterfowl Assoc.
