Passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 83.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Ellen Munding; parents, Bernie & Elaine Munding.
He is survived by his children, Carl (Amy) Munding, Kurt (Mary Pat) Munding, Katy (Joel) DiMarco & Molly Ann Munding, and Sandy Moscicki; his sisters, Mary Jo Eddy and Kathy Fedison; grandchildren, Joaquin, Sofia, Amalia, Nick, Madeline, Ian, Joel, Olivia & David; & many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.
David leaves us with many fond memories shared together on Jo-Jo Island, in Rochester, Green Valley, AZ & Honeoye Lake, NY.
David passed peacefully, surrounded by family and so much love. We are forever grateful for his unconditional love, support, generosity, humor, life lessons, and grace.
David was a hardworking, compassionate, dedicated, family driven, organized and loving person. His hobbies included cooking, fishing, woodcarving, "going for a ride" in the car with family (city of Rochester & Finger Lakes), reading (non-fiction and historical fiction about US History) and he very much enjoyed listening to music, especially Native American flute, and the "easy listening" TV music channel.
He was the first graduating class of Eastridge High School - Class of 1962.
He joined the US Army Reserve serving 4 years as a National Guard.
He worked at Xerox part time while studying at RIT, and graduated with a BA in Engineering.
David will be remembered for his sense of humor, the love for his grandchildren, his "lectures" to all of us, his love of food (cooking & eating), and the compassion he showed others.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 10:00am at St. Ambrose Church, 25 Empire Boulevard. In lieu of calling hours, a celebration of life will be held following his funeral mass.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the caregivers that took exceptional care of David in the last few months of his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Rochester Regional Health Hildebrandt Hospice Campus Fund or a hospice center of your choice.
